Welcome to QuickTranslator, developed by Tecmanic, LLC. QuickTranslator is an offline-first translation app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the app.
Account information: QuickTranslator does not require an account, login, or sign-up. We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any contact details.
Content you translate: The text and speech you enter into QuickTranslator are processed on your device using Apple's on-device Translation and Speech Recognition frameworks. We do not transmit, upload, log, or store your translations on any server we control.
Usage analytics: We do not collect analytics, crash reports tied to you, or usage telemetry. Anonymous, aggregated crash diagnostics may be provided by Apple's standard frameworks if you have not opted out of sharing analytics with Apple.
Translation is performed entirely on your device using Apple's Translation framework. The translation models are downloaded once and cached locally. Your source text and translated text never leave your device for translation.
When you use the dictate (voice-to-text) feature, audio is processed by Apple's Speech Recognition framework. By default, recent versions of iOS, iPadOS, and macOS perform speech recognition on-device when the language pack is downloaded. If on-device speech recognition is unavailable for a selected language, audio may be sent to Apple's servers for transcription. You can manage which languages have on-device speech recognition in iOS Settings → General → Keyboard → Dictation, or in Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content.
To support offline translation, QuickTranslator downloads language packs from Apple's servers on first use of a language. These downloads are tied to your Apple ID and managed by Apple. We do not see which languages you download or how often you translate.
We do not retain any user content on servers we operate. Translation history, if you choose to save it, is stored locally on your device using standard iOS app data storage and is deleted when you delete the app, clear app data, or offload the app. We do not have access to this local data.
We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties. We do not have access to the content you translate, so we cannot disclose it because we never receive it.
QuickTranslator relies on Apple's Translation and Speech Recognition frameworks. When on-device processing is used, nothing is sent to Apple beyond the initial language pack download. When on-device processing is not available for a selected language, the relevant Apple framework may process data on Apple's infrastructure under Apple's privacy policy, not ours. We recommend reviewing Apple's Privacy Policy for details on how Apple handles this data.
QuickTranslator does not use any advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, social media SDKs, or third-party AI services.
QuickTranslator is suitable for all ages. Because we do not collect personal information from any user, this policy applies equally to children and adults.
Because your translations are processed and stored locally on your device, the security of your translation data depends primarily on your device's security: device passcode, Face ID / Touch ID, and operating system updates. We recommend keeping your device updated and using a strong passcode.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of QuickTranslator after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
