TL;DR — QuickTranslator is built around Apple's on-device Translation framework. Your voice, your text, and your translations stay on your iPhone. We do not collect, transmit, or store any translation content. This page is the long version.

1. What QuickTranslator does not collect

QuickTranslator does not collect, send, or store any of the following:

The text you translate or dictate
The translations produced by the app
Voice recordings or microphone audio
Your location, contacts, photos, or any data from other apps
Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or tracking pixels
Crash logs containing user content (we receive anonymized crash diagnostics only)

2. How translation actually works

QuickTranslator uses Apple's Translation framework, introduced in iOS 14 and expanded in subsequent releases. All translation work happens locally on your device:

On-device language models are downloaded by Apple's system, not by QuickTranslator, and run inside Apple's protected sandbox.
Speech recognition uses Apple's on-device speech engine. Audio never leaves your iPhone.
Translations are produced by Apple's on-device Translation models — no network request is made by QuickTranslator itself.
Auto-copy writes the translation to your iOS clipboard. We have no access to the clipboard contents.

3. What data we (Tecmanic) do receive

3a. Optional email subscription

If you choose to submit your email address through the in-app "Notify me" form, we receive:

This data is stored in a third-party customer-data platform (currently Airtable) under Tecmanic's account. We do not sell, rent, or share email addresses with third parties for marketing purposes.

You can unsubscribe at any time by replying "unsubscribe" to any email you receive, or by contacting us at our contact page. We honor unsubscribe requests within 7 days.

3b. Anonymized diagnostics

Apple may collect anonymized crash and performance diagnostics from the app. We receive these through App Store Connect. They contain no translation content, no audio, and no personal identifiers. We use them only to fix bugs and improve the app.

4. Children's privacy

QuickTranslator does not target children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app is rated 4+ on the App Store.

5. International users

QuickTranslator is available worldwide. The on-device Translation framework supports 38 languages. Email subscribers may be located anywhere; data is processed by our service providers in the United States.

If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or California, you have additional rights:

Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
Deletion — request that we delete your data
Correction — request that we correct inaccurate data
Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format

6. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes that affect your rights, we will notify active email subscribers and post a notice in the app.
